Zuojiang Stone Forest occupies one square kilometer with many peaks rising from the ground. The height of the highest peak is less then 40 meters and the shortest one is no more than 2 meters. Some of them are rolling into stone forest, some are standing prettily and solitarily, the scene is formed potted landscape. Range upon range of stone peaks matching different height form the beautiful shape. Small and large pools continually run through stone hills in length and breadth and cover 1500 mu (9000 acres) caves and lanes in peaks or between peaks. Some wider is just like the palace of the Dragon king which can be used to hold a meeting or have a break; some narrow one can only hold one person who can squeeze through sideways. Tour path is like a maze. If you are not careful, you will lose your way. There are many kinds of subtropical plants living on the top of peaks including 272 types of Chinese traditional medicine which can not only cure disease but also be enjoyed as views. Natural different shaped forms at the bottom of peaks look like to be created by superlative craftsmanship. Therefore it is like famous stones on Taihu Lake. There are also different scale pools scattering in the wider places which formed a beautiful picture: a small bridge is spanning a flowing stream, a winding path is leading to quiet sedusion and birds are singing and insects are crowing.
YouTube returned no videos for your query!

Zuojiang River leaning Tower, also named as Guilong Tower, was built on the Aotou Peak on the Shitou (stone) Island in the middle of Zuojiang Island, lying in gurgling rapids and alarming dangerous terrain. The tower was built with two floors by prefect Li Youmei in Tianqi year (1621) during Ming Dynasty. It was added 2 floors by prefect Xu Yue in the 35th year (1692) of the Qing emperor Kangxi, The bottom diameter is 5 meter, the base height is 23.184 meters and its body height is 18.28 meters. The surface assumes octagonal face. The top of tower is cast with mill which protests from rusting. There is a ring on each eave of eight faces, which sways and rings with the wind and its sound is pleasing to the ear. The tower’s outlook is plain but vigorous, it stands loftily and firmly. In the south and northwest of the tower’s first story both operate an arched entrance; respectively operate a window from the second story. In the tower there is a screw-style brick ladder which is anti-clockwise to the top layer. The person walks on the steps and ladders will have strong inclined feeling. According to the measurement, the gradient is 4°24′64 ? and its inclined direction is 52 °16′ 30 ?in the southeast by west . Experts said that craftsmen deliberately tilted the tower to one side for the concern of the wind from the river and its foundation. It is the only leaning tower built by people on purpose. The whole tower is beside the hill. And it owns stable construction and harmonious appearance. Though built for 300 years, eroded by floods many times, insolated and buffeted by winds and rains, exposed to the weather, it is still towering up which fully shows that our ancient people had exquisite architectural technology. Leaning tower is rare in the world. More importantly, it is located in the current which is the wonder in the world. The tower, together with Huqiu Tower in Suzhou, Suizhong Tower in Liaoning, Songjianghuzhu Tower in Shanghai, Dangyang Tower in Hubei, Learning Tower of Pisa in Italy, Kendao Tower in Germany, Congress Building Square Tower in England, is honored the famous eight towers in the world.
Because it was once a royal bathing land and the spring water is hot all the year round, it got the name of Royal Hot Spring. It has been exploited since 1300 years ago. On the fighting east, Emperor Taizong (Li Shiming) of the Tang Dynasty had ever stooped to bath in the spring. He granted it the name of “Blessing Spring”. In the 5th ruling year of Emperor Wanli of the Ming Dynasty, the military governor Qi Jiguang had ever led his men to take oaths here and renovated the spring several times. The spring was in favor with the emperors of the Qing Dynasty as well. Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty not only visited the spring many times, inscribing poems or lyrics and repairing the spring, but also built the famous Floating Cups Pavilion here. With a circumference of about 23m, the existing hot spring lake has marble walls and stone railings around. The unique Floating Cups Pavilion stands next to the spring. If a banquet is hosted in the pavilion, the guests can put the wine glass into the round stone tank. The wine can be warmed by the hot spring water, and it’s a highlight of the Hot Spring.
YouTube returned no videos for your query!

Zuibai Chi is a private gardens, which was used by its owner “Dong Qichang” (a famous artist in Ming dynasty) for writing poetry and drinking. Now the Inner Garden is the original, the Outer Garden is newly built. There is a square pond in the center, surrounded by pavilions, terraces, chambers, waterside pavilions and long corridors. With the altitude of 2000 meters, Zixi Mountain is considered as “the first mountain in the central part of Yunnan” since ancient times. It is considered to be the holy land for Buddhism even when it was in the Song Dynasty. There are thousands kind of plants, many kinds of animals and Buddhist buildings. Records say many famous historical hierarches had been cultivated them here. In the Ming and Qing Dynasty, Zixi became a famous Buddhism place. Today, there are 68 relics of Buddhism temples and 21 Buddhism towers remained here. The environment is quiet and the scenery picturesque too, with the green pine forest stretch to horizon, and red azalea decorated in it, limpid streamlets running through the mountain.
Plant: There are more than 202 species of higher plants in 65 genus and over 107 species of animals. Actually, it’s a world of plants and animals.
Camellia: The Zixi Mountain also abounds with camellia. According to the research, there were more than 60 camellia plants in the area which are believed to be cultivated 200 years ago in the mountain. The history of the cultivation, the variety of the species and the enrichment of the color of the camellia here are the second to none in Yunnan. There’s a saying: Camellia in Yunnan exceeds all in China, and camellia in Zixi exceeds all in Yunnan.
Torch Festival: There is a saying here says that if you don’t dance during the torch festival, it will remain a great pity in your life. From here we can figure out the importance of the local torch festival. Besides the open fire party, an activity name “carry bride” is also very interesting. 10 girls are chosen from the crowd to be the brides and covered with traditional red head shawls. 10 young men are also chosen from the crowds to be the bridegrooms. Then the brides and the grooms are asked to dance together for some time. Then, the brides are placed in a different order and the grooms are asked to find their original brides. Those who find out the correct one may carry her away. And those who fail to find the right one will be fined to make performance in public with their face covering with inks.
Origin of famous flowers in Yunnan province:Of the eight most famous flowers in Yunnan Province (namely camellia, orchid, azalea, yulan, gentian, yingchun and green plush fungus), seven can find their origin here in Zixi Mountain.
Zijinguan Pass is located at the top of Zijin Mountain, in Yixian County, southwest of Beijing. There is currently no record of when the pass was originally built. Historians only know that the pass was called Wuyuan Pass in the East Han Dynasty. It was later renamed for the red bud trees growing in the mountain. Extensive restoration and reconstruction was made during the Ming Dynasty. This pass is one of the three most important passes in heartland China. The other two are Juyong Pass and Daoma Pass.
The structures visitors see today were built during the Ming Dynasty. The original pass was equipped with 4 gates. It had walls on the east, west and north sides. The north wall overlooks the Juma River, creating an impenetrable stronghold.
Zijinguan Pass is significant in Chinese history. Since it is one of the two passes to heartland China from the North of the Great Wall, the northern tribes had to capture this pass to enter central China. According to historical documents, around 140 battles were fought here. Zijinguan Pass never really did fulfill its function as an impenetrable defense fortification. The northern nomads often passed around or broke through it during raids. Good examples were the Mongolians and Manchurians who first took over this pass and then swept over the whole country. Nevertheless, the pass was coveted by generations of ambitious politicians and militarists who openly fought for it.
Glints and flashes of swords and spears; flames and explosions of wars have all become historical images. Military functions of the strong and high pass had died out. Today the pass serves as a precious cultural and historical relic.
Zijinguan Pass is a famous tourist attraction now.
